We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Developer to join our growing team and oversee a team of three WordPress developers.

As well as maintaining and enhancing existing applications, successful candidates will be working on brand new end to end development projects. You will need to have the confidence and ability tomulti-task whilst remaining a clear thinker and communicator.
The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and best practices for web performance & hosting, accessibility and usability. As head of web development, the ideal candidate will also have the desire to coach and assist the juniors in the team for long term growth.

 

 

Key accountabilities

·        Managing and Participating in the Development of new and existing WordPress applications

·        Assessing requirements as received from client and project management teams

·        Ensuring all code is tested and reviewed to the highest standards

·        Clear communication with the team, and utilizing project management tools

 

Desired Skills and Experience

·        Strong PHP knowledge

·        Advanced understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

·        Proven track-record of developing custom WordPress plugins and themes in line with best practices

·        Takes ownership of team tasks and drives them through to delivery

·        Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent styles across browsers and platforms

·        Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)

·        Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git

·        Willing to provide and receive feedback from others and is eager to find ways to improve

·        Passionate about site speed and performance and the techniques that go along with it
